2021 Projects
Funding was provided to enable AiA to create a fitness and sports outreach program within a local Croatian Baptist Church. By partnering with this small local church, AiA intends to both strengthen the church and its ministry to the local community, while also providing a long-term, synergistic impact to AiA's own ministry in Croatia.
Due to the huge popularity of cricket in Pakistan and building on previous successes in AiA sponsored cricket tournaments, funding for this project will focus specifically on a cricket tournament seeking evangelistic connections into the minority people/religion subgroups within Pakistan.
Funding for this project will allow AiA Zimbabwe to adapt the come-from-behind 2-4-4 soccer strategy to evangelistic outreach efforts within the economically devastated youth of the country. The strategy will provide 2 weeks of recruiting and training to form 4 soccer and 4 basketball teams. In addition to playing sports, the teams will be linked with local church pastors, and all will receive AiA training in sports evangelism. The prayer is that this strategy will become a successful model for sports evangelism throughout Zimbabwe.
AiA leadership has tested and shown increased effectiveness in AiA international sports ministry efforts through greater use of partnerships with local Christian churches and groups in the targeted area. These partnerships result in increased outreach and faster growth of AiA infrastructure within the targeted area, allowing better long-term discipleship and relational follow-up after each AiA sports project. Funding was provided this year to assist AiA leadership toward re-training AiA staff worldwide in how to implement this new strategic model for AiA ministries.
