2015 Projects

AIA Netherlands/Week of Their Lives Sports Camp

Provided funding enabling disadvantaged, unbelieving teens to "spend a week in a truth-environment on sports camp".  This AIA-led summer camp allows these teens to play sports and interact with Christian teammates and coaches in an environment "in which teens find safety and freedom to share their lives (with a realness that is amazing), to pray (many for the first time) and listen to Jesus (even when they never before heard about him)." One father's response to his son's participation: "my son found faith at your camp two years ago and for that I will be ever thankful."

AIA Africa/All Africa Games (AAG)

Provided funding helping send 12 African AIA Country Leaders to act as chaplains and sports ministers at the AAG.  The AAG is the premiere multi-sport event on the continent. It brings together 6,000 of the elite athletes, coaches, sports officials and sport leaders from across the continent every four years.  The AIA chaplains will have access to AAG participants "in an environment where there is great freedom to meet and talk with them about things of faith and build far reaching relationships."  Funding also helps pay for materials to be distributed during the AAG.

AIA Southeast Asia/Myanmar Gold Camp

In a period of transformation from military to democratic rule, the Myanmar (formerly Burma)Minister of Sports as asked AIA to help build a spiritual dimension in the lives of the elite athletes of Myanmar.  Funding will help pay for staff expenses, curriculum development, and materials enabling AIA to provide a program of spiritual training and develop relationships with 180 athletes who will be residing at the Myanmar Olympic training center called “The Gold Camp."

AIA Egypt/Soccer Academies

Provided additional funding to that given in 2014 toward AIA Egypt's soccer academies ministry.

The funds helped expand the ministry by transforming a sandy lot into a soccer field in yet another Egyptian city.  The soccer fields (even without grass), the free jerseys/equipment provided, and the AIA coaching has attracted boys, ages 5-21, over 10,000 so far. "Each training session includes value based teaching on character. The boys are then invited into bible studies where the gospel is shared and discipleship received."
